photography is a way to both engage with the world around me, and to push deeper in my understanding of myself - what's exciting, energizing, beautiful, and resonant? somehow our innumerable experiences in all their diversity and volume exist here, in this one shared world. photography provides another set of eyes through which to experience this life.
originally inspired by my parents. cameras always in the house, around town, on family outings. cruising berkeley in the '90s going to a variety of drugstores and looking glass to develop the latest batch of film. other inspirations include robert mapplethorpe, vivian maier, ansel adams, garry winogrand, patti smith, robert frank.
